About This Product

If you own a gooseneck horse trailer, The PEGASUS Torsion-Flex gooseneck coupler is the coupler for you! The PEGASUS was designed with the comfort of you and your equine friend in mind. By utilizing TORSION-FLEX technology, the PEGASUS separates the truck from the horse trailer by cushioning all of the trailer’s tongue weight in the built-in suspension system of the gooseneck coupler.

The feedback on this product has been amazing and customers are using phrases like “a night and day difference” or “my horses are much calmer after a trip”. The PEGASUS can also be used on any other lower-profile gooseneck trailers such as stacker or race car trailers.

If a taller coupler is desired, check out our SPARTAN model gooseneck coupler. This still gives you the same amazing ride benefits as the Pegasus but has a taller profile to fit most utility gooseneck trailers on the market.

4 reviews for Pegasus Low-Profile 5″ Offset (Torsion-Flex) Gooseneck Coupler

I was looking for a replacement coupler for my LQ horse trailer, it is very tongue heavy and I pull it with a F450. I was concerned about damaging the trailer due to the constant beating it was taking. I called and spoke with Jason Helmuth. After getting the information about my truck and trailer, he recommended the Pegasus Low-Profile 5″ Extension (Torsion-Flex) Gooseneck Coupler. I ordered it online and used the option to pay with Affirm. The process was extremely easy, the hitch arrived quickly and was very easy to install. The 5″ extension is wonderful since with my old coupler there was just a couple of inches clearance between the tailgate and trailer when I was hooking up. I used to have a lot of creaking with my old coupler but now it is quiet. I did have an issue with getting the pin latched. I called Jason and he was extremely helpful in coming up with a solution. I definitely recommend this hitch, great quality and price.

Well I had just recently purchased this new Coupler and installed it with me traveling and Rodeoing so much for a for a living I wanted my horses and living quarters horse trailer to have the best as well as the smoothest ride for my horses. I was tired of everything in my living quarters bouncing off so when I put my hitch on I’ve hauled it I’m on a trip right now to Texas from Florida and needless to say I’m glad that I bought the Pegasus hitch hands down recommended a my horse got off the trailer not so fast due to less bumps I’m sure I got 3 gallons more a mile so if you see a trailer pass you look on the back to see if it’s being pulled with a gen y trailer hitch #teamgenyhitch #pegasusforthesmoothestride

This hitch has solved two problems I had while pulling my big Logan Coach Ultimate Sport Hauler. One was how I couldn’t hook up to my trailer with the tailgate down, the extra 5” solved that problem. It will also give me a little more room between the cab and trailer while making tight turns. The other thing this hitch has solved is the annoying bucking I would experience coming off of bridge decks. My normal ride has also smoothed out. The best way I can explain it is it feels like the trailer has been isolated from the pickup. I still have some miles to go for the manufactures full break in period so I’m sure the ride will only get better.!

Chance, thank you for giving us your honest feedback! We’re so glad the PEGASUS has given you more clearance and a smoother ride when towing!

  4. Michael Askew

This hitch does not work with a CM Flatbed. The back of the hitch hits the sides of the gooseneck ball box when turning.

    • Ashley Styers

Hello, Michael! The recessed coupler option only works with a recessed gooseneck ball if the top of the ball is within one inch of the truck bed. We would recommend utilizing a taller gooseneck ball.
