Does Your Truck Have a Lift Kit?
Got a lift, no problem! Even if you have a lift kit, this hitch can still be of use! However, there are a few things to think about when towing with a lifted vehicle.
Long drop hitches (12″ or more) will put additional leverage on the vehicle receiver. Therefore, in some cases, receiver hitch manufacturers will reduce ratings by as much as 50%.
A long drop hitch will also typically create a lot more movement due to the added length and drop of the ball mount. Using the Stabilizer Kit (GH-0100) will tie the bottom of the GEN-Y adjustable drop hitch into the frame of the truck which will take the stress off of the receiver as well as keeping the bottom of the ball mount from moving, ensuring a safe towing experience.

Worth Every Penny. So maybe you can go to your box store get something cheaper but I know from experience that they don’t hold up as well. Have had mine for well over 4 years and have put well over the 16k rated weight to it without any issues. Besides some paint flaking off hope to get many more years of use.

I rarely leave reviews, but I definitely want people to know this hitch is fantastic! The company is awesome as well, quick response to questions and friendly staff.
I used their diagrams and measurement suggestions to pick the right hitch, and it was dead on. I’ve towed everything from small trailers that haul motorcycles, to 4,000lb dump trailers loaded with 10,000lb tree trunks.
The bolt hitch locks that code to your truck key are a life saver as well. They really do work. Awesome product and experience all around.

In preparing one of my trucks [’94 Dodge Ram 2500 – 9″ lift on 38″ boots] to be my primary hauler, I removed the original factory receiver hitch and installed a 17,000lb XD receiver and paired it with a 2″ shank, 10″ drop 16,000lb Gen-Y with all the fixin’s. I gotta hand it to these guys at Gen-Y!! This hitch is the absolute BEST drop hitch I’ve EVER had the pleasure of putting my hands on [and I’ve used A LOT. like waaayy too many junk hitches…]. I checked it against every trailer I have and there is a position to match all of them perfectly. It’s just fantastic. And on top of that, now I have one hitch that stays locked into the receiver and I freed up one of my underbody toolboxes that until now, was filled with multiple drop and pintle hitches. Won’t buy anything but Gen-Y now. I should have done this year’s ago.. Aside from the products, Gen-Y also has an AMAZING customer service team. I’d like to point out one in particular for this review. **Aaron** at Gen-Y is an AWESOME dude. I had some questions and thoughts and needed help modifying my order and man I’ll tell you what… **Aaron** politely and 100% confidently answered, explained and resolved every question I had, gave me all of the information necessary, and also helped me modify my order flawlessly. And what was even better is that not only did he figure all of my stuff out, he actually kept in touch throughout the days and made sure to call me back when he figured things out.
