Very nice pin and very sturdy. Would definitely recommend
Andy Poletis –
It seems very high quality and stops movement sideways of our 16k Boss torsion hitch. Up down however not stopping that. Might be me. Hard to get at bolt with adjustable wrench. It’s tight??
Jerry –
High quality product, made in the USA, that works like advertised. High quality Stainless. Very pleased.
Robert Young –
While the Hitch Pin works as advertise the main problem is in tightening it to the 50 lbs of torque. I have no tools other than a torque wrench and socket. And since the ends are cannot be used with a socket I hope that I am not tightening to much. When I tried to remove it I had difficulty.
Shawna Skiles –
Hi Robert,
Hand tightening with a wrench will be sufficient for your application. The 50 lb of torque is simply an approximate guide to follow. Let us know if you have other questions!
Matt Worthley (verified owner) –
Very nice quality pin. Took care of that annoying rattle! Couldn’t be happier with it.
Sean Gray –
What size hole does this fit? 5/8″ or 3/4″?
Shawna Skiles –
Hi Sean,
These are for 5/8″ pin holes. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Darcy Fedan (verified owner) –
Looks good. Does its job. But would be great to know just what the breaking strength of these pins is.
Ashley Styers –
Thanks for the feedback, Darcy! These pins are rated for 21,000 LBS.

Question: I am considering this product as it seems like the most robust hitch pin on the market. The product description says that for best results, use this pin with only one reducer sleeve. I must currently use two reducer sleeves for my three-inch receiver. Is the recommendation regarding using only one reducer sleeve a safety issue or a simply a noise-rattle issue? Thanks!!
Ashley Styers –
This pin reduces rattle the best when used with only one reducer sleeve.
Clint New –
I used a GH-021 (truck side) and a GH-022 (torsion hitch side) and was very happy with the results. I only had a little play up and down on the hitch side and 0 play on the truck side. For those that don’t know, a 3/4″ or 19mm open end wrench and a crows foot for the torque wrench works great.
Ashley Styers –
Glad to hear you’re liking your IRON GRIP pins, Clint! Thank you for sharing!

This combined with the 2.5″ anti-rattle assembly worked perfect on my 21k 9″ Mega Duty hitch! Easy install (be sure to use anti-seize) with the supplied tool and 19mm wrench. With both parts install there is no more vertical (anti-rattle) or horizontal (iron grip) movement. Actually ordering another Iron Grip for the ball side to shore everything up even more.
Ashley Styers –
Thanks for sharing, Davis! We’re so happy to hear you like our IRON GRIP Anti-Rattle Pin!

Question: Normally nuts need a lock washer to prevent them from becoming loose. What prevents the nut from becoming loose on this hitch pin?
Ashley Styers –
The friction between the nut and the sleeve keeps it tight. You could essentially put a standard lock nut on it instead of our nut.
