The only issue I have with this system is the cable is about a foot too short but not a big deal at all. This system keeps the box free when not hooked to the rv and on rough/gravel roads the rv doesn’t bounce the truck around. I very much like this system. It’s very easy to install

Had our new GEN-Y delivered to the dealer for our 2021 Riverstone 42FSKG. Had dealer Install on 5/10/21. I was thrilled to see the clearance I had between the bed rail and the trailer – AWESOME! Also, turn radius is fantastic with no risk of hitting the truck rails. If I had one change I would like to see, I would like to have the ability to lock the auto latch coupler lock open so the decoupling can be a 1 person job. Love the hitch so far!

We purchased a 2020 Jayco Pinnacle 36FBTS sight unseen from a dealer in Wyoming. Thought we were going to have it delivered but got quotes between $6k-$10k for delivery so we did it ourselves for less than $2k driving up from the FL Keys to Casper and back. I wanted to go with this hitch but had to do a lot of digging to ensure that the pin box was, in my case, the Lippert 1621HD. I had to call Lippert with the pin box part number, they verified the part number. That assured the GenY would fit. I wasn’t sure how it was all going to work out and didn’t have a backup plan as I don’t own a 5th wheel but already had the gooseneck setup in the truck bed.
I couldn’t be happier with this. I haven’t towed with a 5th wheel before but I have towed with a gooseneck flatbed, which had no suspension in the hitch. This was a much smoother, nicer ride towing my 14k lb RV than the flatbed.
I called and ordered mine and they had great customer service and offered me a model that had been returned because it didn’t work for the other buyer. It worked great for my setup and saved $150 in the process!
The install took me and the mechanic at the RV shop 15 minutes with the help of a fork lift to get it into place. I used the original hardware and purchased 36″ safety chains from Amazon. I was going to purchase them from GenY but they are longer than needed and more than double the cost. Sorry GenY, you’re selling then same Chinese/import crap (I called to verify if they were US made or not, they are not) that Amazon is, why pay more?

Gen Y’s costumer service has been excellent to me! I searched the web for the exact hitch and found that no other company had the item in stock so I ordered straight from the maker. The item was back ordered and not able to ship to me for a month; which wasn’t going to work for me. I called the company and they made an adjustment on the manufacturing floor and expedited the hitch to my house within 2 days. Excellent service that I haven’t seen anywhere else.
Make sure to follow the ordering chart and know what you want. I ordered one hitch and had to return it because I didn’t know that I needed the RHINO bolt pattern. This hitch performs perfectly and I would make the same decision again.

Okay, so I should have given this review last year, but better late than never. I have been using the 4500lbs Executive hitch for my 5th wheel since June of 2020. The Gen-Y hitch is still the best investment I have made for the camper. I truly believe it has saved my camper and my truck.
Driving through the battle grounds of Indiana and Kentucky highways, is a nightmare. I was reminded again this past weekend just how bad they are as I was towing down I70 from Indianapolis to Columbus. In Indiana, they do not now how to make a road transition, over or under a bridge. I have a camera looking at the hitch and every time I go over or under a bridge, I can see the Gen-Y earning its excellent reputation.
As soon as I crossed into Ohio, the roads were smooth as butter as well as the road transitions over and under a bridge. When you are driving on a well-maintained highway, the Gen-Y hitch makes the experience even that much better. I can go on and on, but I think I have made my point. I have recommended Gen-Y to every fellow camper that has stopped and asked for my opinion. I have nothing negative to say about the hitch. It’s as a solid product that is worth every penny.
One last thought, I did call Gen-Y support when I first bought the hitch with some general questions. The support team was great and eager to help!

Had the Gen-Y pinbox installed a couple weeks ago at City Trailers in Oklahoma City. They recomended the change after completing several suspension upgrades on our Grand Design Reflection when they noticed our trailer didn’t tow level. After installation, I Noticed a huge difference in towing within the first two miles of our 32 mile drive to RV storage. The bounce and the chucking was fully eliminated. The only “difficulty” will be learning a different back-up pattern as the gooseneck connection is further to the back of the truck bed. Great product! Will update after we take a long trip in the near future.

2023 Heartland Bighorn 3970FB. Replacing factory Roto-Flex and Anderson Ultimate. The GY66FR packaging was perfect upon delivery. Packaged really well with spray foam around unit.
Removal and installation time was around 1 ½ alone with use of my front end loader. This unit is robust to say the least. Fit and finish is perfect, it bolts right into place.
Glad to have the bed of the truck my truck back. From measuring looks like this will help us with our turning clearance as well.

For those of us with trust (of RV service techs) issues, this is definitely something you can DIY. A couple of tips: Have someone that help you man-handle this bugger. It’s a big ol’ chuck of steel and it’s not a one person job. Second, if you’re removing a Lippert Rhino Box, you may run into trouble with the thick black coating they use. If you are using an impact driver, make sure you run the bolts out in one shot. I stopped to check my progress and that the box wrench wasn’t slipping. That 5 second pause turned the black stuff into the strongest glue on earth. It took a four foot long pipe over the wrench to get things moving again.
This is my first gooseneck or fifth wheel so I don’t have any experience with non-Gen-Y hitches to compare the ride to. The only chucking I feel is the driving through a bad cross lane pavement repairs. Even then, it’s not bad. I have about 1,200 miles on mine and I still like my choice to forego the fifth wheel hitch & its weight.
