I was contemplating on buying the old design and looked at a bunch of reviews and it wasnt quite what I imagined so i held off. Then this design came out and i knew it was what im looking for in stabilization and strength so i had to have and just like the chain I ordered it came in very promptly. I have a feeling this will relieve a lot of tensions towing my setup
Works awsome. Moved my car hauler back just enough to clear cab and make them tricky corners not a concern. Love the integrated safty chain hooks.
When my Goosepuck Gen 2 arrived I was very surprised by the weight of the box. It was reassuring to me that it had some mass to it. From the photos it did not look very stout, but it is very heavy duty. Assembly was simple. Although one of the square holes was a little tight, all the carriage bolts fit properly and made it very easy to put together since it only required a torque wrench. The only issue was having to adjust it a few times to allow it to be installed and removed without binding. It would be nice if assembly instructions came with it, rather than having to go online, and mentioned that it might take a little fine tuning to allow it to slide in and out of the gooseneck hole and the pucks. I have to add that Gen Y went above and beyond to get it to me. I had ordered it a couple weeks before and there was a delay in shipping due to getting parts in. I called on a Tuesday asking about the status of my order and explained that I was leaving for a trip on Friday. I was told that the parts had arrived and they had begun shipping. They expedited the order and it was delivered on Wednesday. I could not be happier with the service and customer support. The only other suggestion I can offer is that it would be nice if there was an option for a taller ball. My 2024 F350 SRW is stock but it sits a high. A taller ball would give more room between the bed rails and the bottom of the 5th wheel trailer. The Gen Y executive hitch, at its lowest setting, only gives me 5″ of clearance and there is no way to increase that. A 1″ or 2″ taller ball option would allow me more adjustability at the hitch.
I was about to order the first gen Goosepuck when I saw the Goosepuck Gen-2 was now available! Gen-Y responded quickly to other manufacturers trying to replicate their product with a superior product. This fits my truck perfectly and the built-in safety chain attachment depth was adjustable. This is super easy to assemble, install and remove (when rarely needed). I was happy not to have to purchase a set of safety chain anchors as well! Pairing this with the Executive Gooseneck Snaplatch coupler provides for a smooth and less-jarring ride when pulling out 5th wheel!
Excellent quality. Moves the goose ball back 5″ which makes hitching much easier. Previously I had to be nearly perfect straight back in order to hitch with the tailgate down. Now I have a little leeway. Thanks.
