The GEN-Y PHANTOM 5K Drop Hitch (SKU GH-102358, 2 inch hollow shank) is rated for 5,000 pounds towing with a 500 pound tongue weight, built for half-ton trucks and SUVs doing lighter-duty towing. It includes a ball mount, pin, and clip, though you add the ball itself separately, and adjusts through a 4.5 inch drop or rise range.
The PHANTOM's stacked tube design lets you set the ball mount to the exact drop or rise position you need, with 3 adjustable positions across its 4.5 inch range, and the same hitch works in either the drop or rise orientation depending on how you flip it. Add a 2 inch or 2 5/16 inch ball at checkout, since the ball mount ships without one installed.
GEN-Y builds the PHANTOM around its own stacked tube system, which is different from the standard receiver and ball mount design used across most of GEN-Y's other hitches. Because of that, GEN-Y does not recommend using non-GEN-Y towing attachments or weight distribution hitches with the PHANTOM, and most of GEN-Y's standard accessories built for its other hitches, like the standard Replacement Pintle Lock, aren't compatible with PHANTOM either. GEN-Y sells a separate PHANTOM Serrated Hitch Step built specifically to fit this stacked tube design.
This hitch is not recommended for flat towing, isn't intended for off-road towing, and is not rated for winching or side-load applications. It's built for standard on-road bumper pull towing within its rated capacity, not for these more specialized use cases.
GEN-Y fabricates the PHANTOM from heavy-duty steel, sandblasts it, and finishes it in a durable matte black powder coat. It's made in the USA, weighs 17 pounds, and carries a limited lifetime warranty.
