The SPARTAN coupler is taller than a standard coupler, so it is important to measure the distance from the bottom of your current coupler to the retaining pin. If clearance is an issue, the PEGASUS model may be a better option, as this unit is designed for lower profile trailers such as horse, race, or any other low clearance gooseneck trailers.

All GEN-Y products are rigorously tested and exceed the VESC-19 testing requirements. Never exceed recommended capacity on any trailer tow coupling or vehicle receiver hitch.
Tow capacity is limited by the lowest-rated component.
Average break-in period for hitch = 1,000 miles.
When applicable, use a ¾” pin.

We log a lot of miles responding to disasters with fleet of shower and bunk trailers. We absolutely love of our Gen-Y Torsion hitches, both gooseneck and bumper pull. Softer ride, more control, and less abuse on trucks and trailers. We even have contract drivers (hot-shots) that request the “big hitch” when we call them to help us out.
if you own a nice trailer, owning a nice coupler makes perfect sence, The Spartan is very strong and a huge upgrade, I take this one off and use it on 2 other trailers,

Great build quality. Nice ride improvement but not sure its worth $975.
Biggest issue is the lack of coupler sizes. I am shocked that they only make 4in round. Trailers have 13 15/16,4,and 4 1/16. If u have the smaller as i do on my load max 2016 trailer u have to force the coupler in. I had to use a jack to force it in. That destroyed the paint on the shaft so now even if i wanted to i couldnt return it!
For $ 975 5x the cost of a standard coupler i expect more knowledgeable people.

I have been using hitch for about 2 weeks on my gooseneck and notice a great difference in the ride. The huge down side is hooking up trailer with the safety pin instead of a quick latch horrible experience. Gen Y sure can do better than that so thats why i would currently not recommend this.
